What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. We also use localStorage, a similar browser mechanism that works without cookies but serves the same purpose of remembering your preferences.

Cookies and storage we use

NameTypePurposeDuration
imgpact-theme localStorage Remembers your light/dark mode preference Until manually cleared
imgpact-lang Cookie Remembers your language preference (EN, FR, ES, RU) 365 days
imgpact_consent localStorage Saves your cookie consent choices 365 days
imgpact-sid localStorage Random anonymous session ID used to count unique tool users. Sent to imgpact servers (alongside tool name only) when a tool is used. No personal data, no IP address. Until manually cleared
Google Analytics (GA4) Cookie / localStorage Measures visits and tool usage to understand which features are most useful. Data is aggregated and anonymous. Only loaded with your consent. Up to 2 years
Microsoft Clarity Cookie / localStorage Records anonymised session replays and heatmaps to understand how tools are used and improve the interface. Only loaded with your consent. Up to 1 year

Analytics, what data is collected?

If you consent, we collect anonymous, aggregated data such as:

  • Pages visited and tools used
  • Time spent on each tool
  • Country (not city or IP address)
  • Browser and device type

We never collect your images, file names, or any file content, all image processing happens locally in your browser and nothing is ever uploaded to our servers.

Your choices

You can manage your preferences at any time using the Cookies button in the bottom-left corner of every page. You can accept all, refuse all, or choose individually between Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.

If you refuse analytics, Google Analytics still loads in anonymous mode (no cookies, IP anonymised, no cross-site tracking). Microsoft Clarity is not loaded at all.

How to clear cookies

You can clear all cookies and local storage for imgpact at any time through your browser's developer tools: DevTools → Application → Storage → Clear site data.
